The temple is constructed by Vijayanagar 1369 king of that time. The Hanuman is worshipped and pranapratistapana done by Janamejaya Raja. Later, it was also known that Sri Vyasarajaru did punah-pratistana of Hanuman.
The Hanuman presents 3 avatara if observed closely. The Sougandhika Pushpa at the hand represent Bala-Bheema, there is well knitted Sheekha which usually represents a Brahmin and can be thoughtfully considered as Sri Madhwacharyaru and Hanuman is overall Pratima.
However, being nearest to the place like Santebidanoor where there is also a Janamejaya Pratistan Sri Anjaneya temple and saints like Sri Satyavara, Sri Satyaparayana teerthas would have surely visited and worshiped this Hanuman which would give more sannidhana of Jeevottama Vayudevaru.
One can surely be blessed by Papa Nasha, Punya phala from this Hanuman. The temple has Garuda Stambha, Shasana written, Banyan Tree.
