 Krishna - The one who 'KARSHANI' of all sins and all burdens of his bhaktas. He pulls out our sins and blesses us. Till now in this worst period of Kaliyuga still if kids born on Shravana-Krishna Astami day, parents keep Krishna as their kids name. 

No one has given the name 'Krishna' to lord. He is Krishna always. He knew that Kamsa will be an evil for the world and hence he himself takes Avatara in Devaki-vasudeva. He tells them about himself before he appears as kid infront of them. Helps Vasudeva to travel out of the prision and reach to Gokul.. Hence, Krishna was not just a name given to baby rather its Sarvottama who already known as Krishna.

In Krishnavatara we all know about Putani but we dont try to understand the background behind this character. Putanaa is a character who comes as 'Dharma poshak' while being Adharmi. Even she appeared as Dharmi/Sundari lord kills her. This passes a really a strongest message to all Yugas that -

If you are Adharmi and come in Dharma disguise still you will be badly punished by Krishna. You can fool people around you but you cannot fool Lord who controls everything and he is the one who is SARVAJNA.

Sajjanas who believe GOD as SARVAJNA and Sarva-Darshaka are known as "Sharkaraksha'. They know that they cannot fool GOD by doing some pooja, good work while keeping bad intentions inside.

That is the powerful message GOD sends to the universe through Putana Vadha. She came to give him milk while internally having intention to kill him(intention to kill satya, swatantra, Sarvottama).

So, pleasing GOD can happen only through good deeds, Satya(truth), and real love towards GOD and in his Bhaktas.
