- विश्वगुणादर्श – वृषगिरीशभक्तिः

If one has strong devotion towards God, it will illuminate thick darkness, destroy the forest of sins, expands thoughts about God, gives various kinds of happiness. It will flood the mind again an again with elixir so that it can remain happy for ever.

Background

Once upon a time the present Vijayapura(then Bijapur) was also known as Vidyapura(place of knowledge), due to attack of the worst King Adilshahi it got name as Bijapur. There is a place called Nimbal(well known Railway station since long) at 42kms from Bijapur. One can witness the railway station while passing from Sholapur to Bijapur travel by trains.

This place is well known for fertile fields and also has a Lord Shiva temple which is believed to be constructed at Chalukya regime. The archilogical departmnet is supporting to protect this temple till now.
There were many families with surname Nadagouda, Desai, Gandamali, where most of these surnames have come due to contribution to the society.

The name Nimbal - though a very small village, not a bank of any popular river but still it attracted many Adhyatma thought workers and practices towards it hence in Kannada Nim-Balu(your life / elevated soul ). Else having spiritual practices at the time of Mohammad attacked era is not that easily possible.

In 19th century this holy place had Vidwan called Sri Vitthalachar Gandamali ( Mouna bhargava Gothra) and Sri Krishnabai and their blessed child "Hayagreeva" ( Born 1855 ). Sri Hayagreevacharya study happened at home itself through their father Pt. Vitthalacharya. They studied nyaya, Vedanta, Tarka, Jyothishya and also gained a most control in practice of the same.  It is known that Sri Hayagreevacharya and Pt. Narasimhacharya Galagali were kind of same age group.

Few turning points

At the young age itself they lost their wife Venubai and later in some time they lost their eyes as well.
These turning points instead of making them move away from GOD and belief in adhyatma, made them turn more towards inner soul and its sadhana. Their internal eyes opened to see more of Lord Vishnu jnana than getting insights of worldly affairs. God gives power to achieve what we intent to do in life even if required organs does not work. In the same way the achievements of the soul started making more power in their talk, thoughts and also people started witnessing their Yogic powers.

Shishya Vrunda

One of the well known surnames / families you find in north Karnataka is Nadagouda family. The meaning of surname is Nada(Land) Gouda (Lords). But they just did not look like Landlords but they were more popular due to their thirst towards Adhyatma, Donations and use of their assets for doing satkarmas. ( Its not important what you have and what you have done, its important for what you have used them all? ). Sri Ghanashyama of such a Dharmika family of Nadagouda was a loved shishya of Sri Hayagreevacharyaru. Nadagouda family were eager to locate always with their kulaguru Sri Hayagreevacharya to learn from them.

Dharma-Dheeksha

Due to lots of tragedies happening in the family after they lost wife & eyes they faced tragedies of their future generations as well. Tragedies are always turnings points in life. A person can move in only 2 directions in such situations. One direction is Adhyatma and another one is falling down with bad habits. While such a great soul started ascending in adhyatma ladder to visualize the Lord. They stopped intake of food and just started having only "Allittu - Corn floor". They used to submit same naivedya and eat the same. Initially they used to mix this with buttermilk and eat and slowly they just started eating only dry corn floor, thus exhibiting powerful 'vairagya'. They could not visit Yelaguru like how they used to visit before, but to bless them Yelagurusha himself appeared in the river Krishna for as Sundara Moorthy, which they started to worship daily at home.

Contributions to society

  • Running free adhyatma school for various men at their own home
  • Annadana to all needy at any point in time
  • Spending whole day in sharing knowledge, teaching and also doing vidyaposhane is biggest contribution ( Vidya danam mahapunyam ).
  • Their blessed families got child Like Dr. M M Joshi ( runs a big eye hospital in Hubli till today in the name of mother Padmavathi - Padmanayanalaya ).
  • They helped to heal stomach issue of Jeevanna Master by giving them daily Vaishwadeva annam and doing Japa for them. Thus curing the health issue in just 21 days.

Sarvadasrshi Sadhakiyaru - Madhwa Women Achievers

Being a true Madhwa lady is as tough life style as a women CEO of large organization How is Kalibadhe to Women? Women been power of the community always, in the past, present and most importantly for future. If dharmik happy life has to be seen on this earth its possible only through brave women. Today with heavy influence of western culture, to be clear western Bad culture influence is much higher than influence of westerns good culture. The culture of cutting cake, waking up in midnight 12 and giving a gift/cake has become totally unavoidable. We are at peak of blind culture by people who said Dharma is blind belief!!! There are several life being sacrificed just because family did not agree to celebrate kids 1st birthday in hotel at the cost of 40-80,000. Women are under tremendous peer pressure today, applying kunkum, wearing mangalasutra has itself been a factor of being old-school-though person. People don't want to even show themselves as Madhwas, Brahmins or even married.
