The family of Smt. Godhutai Kulkarni has a flag that they hoisted on 15th August 1947 till today. Every year they hoist the same flag and protect it for future. Wondering what is that so great in this subject?

There are lots of things to learn from our ancestors who showed their Desha Bhakti in their possible extreme ways along with their Dharma Shradha. The story connects to a Brahman family who were from Nalatwad of Muddebihal Taluk, Vijayapura District way back in 1911-1977. Sri Narsingrao Gangadhar Kulkarni who was doing Kulkarni Job(typically a documentation job related to legal papers etc), as Gumast in Nadagouda family. Sri Narasingrao and Smt. Godhutai had really great married life and with 12 kids. Six kids born before 1947 and one kid born exactly on freedom day and 5 other kids post freedom days of the nation. 

During 1947 15th, Independence day one of their kids namely Gangadhar who was studying in 4th standard was given a flag by their school teacher (Sri Arappa Yaragunti). Teacher had purchased flags to give to each kid to hoist flags in every ones home(1947 HarGharTiranga thought probably). When kid along with their family hoisted flag at their home the whole family was feeling patriotic and happy. 

But, this is where Godhutai story comes to the notice. While family and kids grew further its Godhutai who kept the flag hoisted on 15th August 1947 safe and in same sanctity. During those days even a family lady having great responsibilities of home making and educating kids and taking care of family, she was still focused on keeping flag safe and also reminding family to hoist it every year. Though she was not literate but having great Dharma and Desha Bhakti is still an inspiration to the young women of today. She had 12 kids and she took care of Flag as if its her 13th kid!!!

Today, young who have lots of education but are seen drifting away from Dharma and Desha Bhakti is not a good development. Mostly, the nation needs Desha Bhakti(not for selfie or status), Dharma Shradha as apart from us no one on earth can protect Sanathana Dharma for future, Swadeshi moment, contribute back to nation through innovation/talent/nation building work etc. Every hindu family needs kids, and good family member numbers else we are going to be 100% nuclear families in the future.
