Bagalkot in Karnataka is famous for many historical places & having many popular Hanuman Temples. This has been a hub for large number of madhwa families decades ago and today as well. Banashankari of Badami is one of the most visited places for madhwas in Bagalkot as family deity.  The Dasa Sahitya and Vyasa Sahitya both are part of this soil since several centuries. To justify this one can remember Sri Prasanna Venkata Dasaru who is most popular from this region. Haridasa sahitya work has taken a lots of contributions from Bagalkot region to enrich Vishnu Tatwa among common people.

    Sri Anant Kulkarni is son of Sri Lamaxnrao & Smt. Padmavathi of Bagalkot. Having blessed with "Kanchina Kantha (meaning: A loud and clear voice as Bell), Sri Anant Kulkarni is also known for following Madhwa Siddhantha much better even in these modern days. It is very tough for singers to adhere much to dharmik rituals due to hectic schedules, delays in events, travels, sleepless nights and unknown places & unknown people all over. But, still one can witness a great Madhwa Tej in the face and eyes of Sri Anant Kulkarni. As elders say, "if you have strong will power what is not possible?".

He started singing at 1977 itself, and later secured B.A. in Sangeeth Shastra. Later he was also honored as A grade singer in Akashvani, Prayag Sangeeth Association provided "Sangeeth Marthand" titles. He also secured Karnataka Govt. Vidwat title. His popularity begin from Uttara Karnataka as the tones he used for popular songs were born out of the Uttara Karnataka style. On top of that the great voice, clarity in spelling complex compositions of great Dasaru create a long lasting impression on listeners. 

November 01, 2022 Karnataka Government ( after his 40+ years of Sadhana ) recognized him for Kannada Rajyotsava Prashasthi thus making every follower to feel proud.

He composed many songs on lots of saints and Yatis. One that is most popular is on Sri Satyapramod Teertharu. His tung twisting singing of "Yentha Srimanthanantano..." composed by Sri Prasanna Venkata Dasaru made him debut in background singing in upcoming movie Sri Prasanna Venkata Dasaru. People love to listen again and again one unique song he sings on Sri Yellamma Devi composed by Sri Mahipati Dasaru of Kakhandaki as Udho Udho ...
